New York Yankees win the World Series05-11-2009 10:31:00
The New York Yankees took their 27th World Series tonight after beating title holder Philadelphia Phillies with 7-3 in game 6, making the final score of the Best-of-seven 4-2. It was already 9 years ago when the Yankees took their last title.

Key factor in the sixt game was Hideke Matsui in todays game, as the batsman tied a World Series record with six RBIs. He started with a homerun in the second inning. After that he kept on scoring points with his hard hitters. Ofcourse Matsui, aka Godzilla, became the MVP. Baseball quarter-billion-dollar superstar Alex Rodriguez, pitcher Mariano Rivera and catcher Derek Jeter helped Matsui and the Yankees wrap up a most successful season in their first year at the new 1.5-billion-U.S.-dollar Yankee Stadium.

After their run of 13 straight playoff appearances ended in 2008, the Yankees bolstered their roster in the off season, spending 424 million dollars to add three pitchers Teixeira, Sabathia and Burnett. They lead the majors with 103 wins during the regular season and then swept the Minnesota Twins for their first win in a playoff series since 2004 and advanced to the World Series with a six-game victory over the LA Angels in the American League Championship Series.

For the Phillies, it was a frustrating end to another scintillating season. They fell two wins short of becoming the first National League team to repeat as World Series championships since the 1975-76 Cincinnati Reds.

Congrats to the New York Yankees, see you all next season again!

DST Summertime ends in the USA (Part 3)01-11-2009 10:30:00
Early this morning, for the US visitors it was midnight, the DST has ended also in the United States and Canada, including the Bermuda Islands, Greenland and the Bahamas.
That means, like last week for Europe, that the clock has been put back 1 hour in these nations. For a full list we refer you again to this overview.
It also means there's a normal difference again of 6 hours between the CET and EST.

What does this mean for you?

Only read further and make changes when you're in one of the countries of the overview who changed on the Nov 1.
We've adjusted the timezones on top of our website, which means the following changes has been made.

-05:00 --> EST (Eastern Standard Time)
-06:00 --> CST (Central Standard Time)
-07:00 --> MST (Mountain Standard Time)
-08:00 --> PST (Pacific Standard Time)

That just means that when you live in one of the above described countries you will have to select the right timezone again.
Not sure of what timezone to pick? Use our clock to convert. See also our newsitem from last week.

#Example: If the servertime states 10:00, and your pc clock writes 3:00, then it means the time difference between our servertime and you is -7 hours.
You substract -7 hours from the CET (+1), which makes your timezone -6 hours. So you slect the CST.

Please visit our forum when you've got any questions or need more help.
DST Summertime ends in Europe (Part 2)25-10-2009 09:15:00
Early this morning or last night, depends on how you like to call it, the summertime (DST) has ended in Europe, Russia, Turkey, Cuba and Mexico.
That means, as we've written earlier already, that those nations have adjusted their clock 1 hour backwards.

The Current timezones can be find right above on top of your screen. Make sure you adjust it so you have the right timezone.

How to do this

- Easy way by selecting on top the right timezone based on the description.
Like if you were on UK then select the new GMT/UTC/UK one again. If you're on CET then select the +1:00 (CET) one.

- Converting; Right on top you can find our server time. Based on that and your pc clock you can convert easily to your time.
As a standard we use CET. CET is +1, so keep that in mind. Based on the 24 hour clock, here are two examples.

#Example 1: If the servertime states 10:00, and your pc clock writes 3:00, then it means the time difference between our servertime and you is -7 hours.
You substract -7 hours from the CET, which makes your timezone -6 hours.

#Example 2: If the servertime states 10:00, and your pc clock writes 12:00, then it means the time difference between our servertime and you is +2 hours.
You add +2 hours to the CET, which makes your timezone +3 hours.

Future changes

1st of November; the US and Canada will end their DST, which brings the usual difference of 6 hours between CET and EST in affect again.

Another update will follow by then ofcourse, for now it's only Europe which changed. Enjoy again!

DST Summertime ends in Europe (Part 1)24-10-2009 14:00:00
This night the DST will end in Europe, including the UK, Cuba,Russia, Turkey and Mexico.
The US and Canada will switch a week later on the 1st of November. Those users don't have to adjust anything this weekend.

What does this mean. From tomorrow on the switched timezones will look as following;

GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) = GMT
UK (England, Scotland, WA/NI) = GMT
CET (Germany, Italy, Europe) = GMT+1
EET (Eastern Europe, Turkey) = GMT+2
MSK (Moscow) = GMT+3

Only users in Europe will have to adjust their timezones on top of our website. We will try to to do the most as automatically as possible, but make sure to check tomorrow if you've got the right timezone selected.

Living in another country, not listed on the DST Change for Sun 25th Oct then you just can relax and sit back.

We will give another update tomorrow to make further clear on what to do and how to get the times right. Keep in mind we got our schedules adjusted to the switches which is running on CET. It can be confusing but you can always follow the clock right on top of our website.

Stay tuned for update #2 following tomorrow.
World Cup 2010 Qualifying South America14-10-2009 10:44:00
Today the final round of the World Cup Qualifying Group stages in Europe, Central America and South America will take place. The most interesting game that needs to be highlighted is the Uruaguay vs Argentina match.

Both teams ain't sure of the World Cup 2010 yet, and the rivalry is huge. Where Brazil, Paraguay and Chile easily took a ticket to South Africa, these two are still struggling to qualify with a third, Ecuador, aiming to beat them indirectly.

# Team Matches Points
4. Argentina 17 25
5. Uruguay 17 24
6. Ecuador 17 23
Note: 4th Place means direct qualification, 5th place is a playoff against a Central American team, 6th place is over and out

As you can see, it's a close call with the upcoming final games; URU vs ARG and CHI vs ECU. For Chile it's easy; they're already qualified and they probably would love to see Uruguay and Argentina failing to make it. Eduador needs to take the 3 points and when that happens we've got an interesting situation. Everything can happen.

Both Argentina and Uruguay are willing to win and can't play for a draw. The home advantage for Uruguay and the great atmosphere in Monteviedo will make this game interesting, as no one expects Argentina to miss the World Cup. Last time this happened was in 1970. If Argentina loses, they're out and they will miss the World Cup 2010. If they win they will qualify, a draw gives them at least a playoff ticket, ofcourse depending on the other result in the Chile vs Ecuador game. Uruguay just needs a win to be sure.

Two rivals, a big game, and two nations with a great passion for football hoping they can qualify. But most likely only one of them will make it. Don't miss this game. Tune in tonight at 11pm UK, midnight CET or 6pm EST:

MyP2P.eu :: Fifa World Cup 2010 Qualifying - Uruguay vs. Argentina

Update with poll result;

Who will take the last South American ticket for the World Cup 2010?
1. Argentina 885 64%
2. Uruguay 373 27%
3. Ecuador 125 9%
Argentina made it so most people were right!
